Learn MoreOn East 4th Street in Long Beach, TMC Rehab treats addiction in the cultural and linguistic context each patient arrives with — Black, Latino, Cambodian, Filipino, LGBTQ+, veteran. Dignity is a condition of care here, not an aspiration.
TMC Rehab began in 2021 as a small recovery ministry within a Long Beach faith community, serving neighbors the larger treatment system was missing — families who didn't see themselves in the clinical models on offer, patients who needed Khmer or Tagalog interpreters, working-class families who couldn't afford out-of-pocket rates.
Five years later, we are a licensed, evidence-based treatment center with 28 beds, 59 staff, and 1,400+ patients served. The ministry roots remain in how we listen; the clinical rigor is what separates us from our starting point.
Intake begins by asking how each patient wants to be addressed, in what language, with what name. That's not a box we tick — it shapes every subsequent decision.
Our 59-person staff includes fluent Spanish, Khmer, and Tagalog speakers across nursing, therapy, and peer support — reflecting Long Beach's actual demographics.
Treatment plans address the brain and the body together. Our registered dietitian works with every patient; our clinicians are trained in current addiction neuroscience.
Every clinician, every nurse, every intake coordinator is trained in trauma-informed practice. Safety is a clinical standard here, not a marketing claim.

Learn More"I came in carrying two deployments, a drinking problem, and a lot of silence. The clinician assigned to me didn't ask me to translate what my service meant to non-veterans — she asked me what I needed treatment to honor about it. That question opened the door."

"I had burned bridges with my adult children for six years. TMC's family programming didn't promise to fix us — it gave us a slow, specific method for rebuilding. My son called me last Sunday. That call was 1,100 days in the making, and I earned it."
— Linda M., family-rebuilder arc
"As an ICU nurse, admitting I had a problem meant admitting the profession had failed me. TMC's healthcare-worker track treated my addiction and my burnout as one entwined clinical picture, not two separate problems. I'm back on the unit, sober, and sustainable."
